Aims of the Day

• Learn how to recognise patients with advanced heart failure and decide whether they should be referred for transplantation or mechanical circulatory support
• Compare the major forms of mechanical circulatory support, their risks/benefits and understand the clinical situations in which they may be appropriate
• Understand the indications and contra-indications to heart transplantation, learn about what happens at the time of heart transplantation and long-term outcomes
• Experience multi-disciplinary discussion and decision making for patients with advanced heart failure

• Lectures from leading Advanced Heart Failure Clinicians from across the UK
• Question and answer session with expert patient
• Live interactive MDT meeting to highlight patients for whom referral may be appropriate and complexity of decision-making
