The Royal Papworth Hospital Palliative Care team are delighted to offer this unique study day, providing an overview of topics and scenarios that palliative medicine specialists may encounter when caring for someone who is managed by a tertiary referral centre.
Our inaugural event will focus specifically on non- malignant respiratory disease and lung transplantation. With talks from a variety of specialists including consultants, clinical nurse specialists and therapists, the day promises to be informative and insightful.
Aims:
- To provide an overview of life-limiting respiratory conditions such as Cystic Fibrosis, Pulmonary Hypertension and Interstitial Lung Disease
- To learn about Non-invasive Ventilation, High-flow Nasal Oxygen and their implications for future planning
- To explore Advance Care Planning discussions in this cohort of patients
- To understand the lung transplantation journey, managing post-transplant complications and supporting patients through this.
This course is aimed at consultants, specialty doctors, specialty trainees, clinical nurse specialists and allied healthcare professionals working in palliative care.
